Commuting notes for MIA/FLL

Most contract MRO demand is outside our bases (Greensboro, Lake City, Oklahoma City, Pensacola, Rockford, Indianapolis, San Antonio). Miami is the exception, thanks to AAR Miami.

Between MIA and FLL

Tri-Rail: Miami Airport ↔ FLL Airport station in 39–43 min. $4 one way on weekdays (from Oct 1, 2026), $5 all-day on weekends. The first weekday train reaches FLL at 4:24 a.m. and MIA at 5:45 a.m., so night- and early-shift starts need a car (Tri-Rail weekday schedule, Tri-Rail tariff policy (eff. Oct 1, 2026)).
Brightline runs downtown to downtown, and its airport shuttles run only 8 a.m.–7 p.m. (Brightline airport shuttles).
Driving: about 28.5 miles; about 46 min with no traffic (model estimate). FLL's employee lot shuttle runs 24/7 (FLL employee parking (Broward County), via search summary). MIA employee decals are $30/month (MIA Rates, Fees & Charges FY2026).
